The Drawing room is located opposite the Dining Room and next to the Morning Room and Grand Staircase.

The purpose of the room was initially a place where the wife of the laird or distinguished guest could go for more privacy but in reality we would just know that as a living room. The drawing room is the smartest room in the house and would usually have been used by the adults of the family when entertaining

The room itself has windows that look towards the Castle, the Island of Arran and also north up the Firth of Clyde viewing the islands of Cumbrae and Bute, along with the towns of Fairlie and Largs
