This room is officially called Netherton Housekeepers Room and is located between the Lift and the Gun Room on the Ground Floor servants corridor. It had been for many years just used for storage and always locked and to this day is still used for that purpose unless its being used as a Film Set.

This room would have traditionally been used by the housekeeper and female staff to make pastries, prepare small meals (such as afternoon tea), make preserves, flower waters, polishes, waxes, soaps and even wines and spirits.

One wall has cupboards and a simple fireplace on the opposite side and drawers below each of the two windows.

It gets its name from the area called Netherton which is between Poteath and the current location of the North Pillars (Avenue Gate) which was once part of the ancient wooded area.
